In March 2013 Nikon released new firmware updates for Nikon D7000. Updates of  A:1.03 / B:1.04.

Confirming whether you have latest firmware

  1. Turn on your camera
  2. Press menu
  3. select setup menu
  4. scroll down and select Firmware Version
  5. if it shows A:1.03 and  B:1.04, then you have latest version of firmware.

How to update firmware?

  1. download F-D7000-V104W.exe from nikon site
  2. double click or right click and extract.
  3. open the folder D7000Update
  4. Format your SD card
  5. copy the file D7000_0104.bin  in to your SD card.
  6. insert back to Camera
  7. switch on the camera
  8. press menu
  9. select setup menu
  10. scroll down and select Firmware Version
  11. select upgrade firmware
  12. don’t switch off the camera until you see the screen firmware upgrade finished.
  13. switch off the camera
  14. switch on and check whether the firmware is updated
